ASTC Pros Summer 2009Meet the Pros


All Seasons Tennis Club offers one of the most comprehensive and experienced teaching professional staffs in the region. 

We have five In-House Pros and contracts with other professionals in the area.  This combination of resources allows us to offer tennis instruction to players of all levels.

Ron ParlmanIn-House Pro: Ron Parlman

Ron's has a long resume of experience in the New England region focused on player development, team management, coaching, and tennis club management. He was the Head Pro at Killington School for Tennis for 10 years. Ron was the Manager of the Charles River Park Tennis Club for 7 years. He has been teaching tennis to all abilities for 25 years with particular attention paid to women's and men's teams from the NTRP 2.5 to 4.5 levels.

Ron was awarded the 2008 New England USPTA Player of the year at the USPTA Winter Conference. He finished #3 in New England in the USTA 45 and over division for the 2008 year.

Bill HamiltonIn-House Pro: Bill Hamilton

Bill has over 20 years of experience, including; playing in domestic and international tournaments, player development, team management, coaching world and nationally ranked players of all levels. Bill recently joined an elite group in tennis when he became one of only thirteen individuals worldwide to attain Etcheberry Certified status. The unique training secrets of legendary strength and conditioning coach Pat Etcheberry have helped more than two-dozen professional tennis champions win more than 100 Grand Slam tournaments and Olympic Medals. Bill offers programs and training to aspiring tennis players of all ages.

Jonathan TylerIn-House Pro: Jonathan Tyler

Jonathan is an experienced teacher for players of all ages and skill levels.  Before joining ASTC he worked at Tri-Valley Tennis and Fitness for 4 years and led Junior Development, Junior Varsity, Varsity, Adult Beginner and Intermediate clinics. He also coached the DBH 2 and DBH 4 teams and the Men's and Women's Central Mass C Teams.

At ASTC, Jonathan's skills working with Juniors are put to use teaching junior clinics, junior advanced summer camps, and the Elite Training program. Jonathan also works with adults; coaching DBH 2, DBH 3 and DBH 4 level teams and giving private lessons and clinics. Jonathan is a multi-talented athlete, winning awards in track, cross country, baseball and basketball.

In-House Junior Pro: David Newton

David "Det" Newton was playing tennis before he went to kindergarten. He learned and played junior tennis at the New Haven Lawn Club, where he was honored with the Lois Felix Leadership Award. He played varsity tennis at Hamden High School. He enrolled in the Threshold Program at Lesley University and was featured in the NCAA CHAMPION and THE BOSOTON GLOBE after the NCAA granted him a waiver that permitted him to play on the Lesley men's team. He played first singles and doubles, captained the team for two years and was named to the New England Collegiate Conference first team each year he was a member of the team.

During the summers, David has taught tennis at the New Haven Lawn Club, Guilford Racquet Club and Nike Tennis at MIT. Prior to coming to All Seasons he interned as an assistant coach to the men's team at MIT.

Mike TrupianoMike Trupiano

Born and raised in Texas, Mike began playing tennis at the age of 6. He comes to ASTC with 15+ years of experience teaching tennis to players of all levels. He has worked as a tennis pro in Texas, Massachusetts and Florida. As Junior Director at the Punta Gorda Tennis and Fitness Club Mike expanded their program by coordinating a Junior Ladder, a traveling team and a USTA Junior League team. Mike has also coached men's and women's teams, with the women's teams winning their division in the first year. He has had Cardio Tennis training and will be leading the program at ASTC. Mike will also be teaching junior clinics, coaching the DBH 4 team and giving private lessons. Mike is driven, dedicated and loves the work he does.

Andrea WegnerAndrea Wegner PTA, CSCS

Andrea has been teaching for over ten years. She has previously worked at BSC/Andover, Nashawtuc Country Club, and Concord Recreation before joining All Seasons.

She is a 2003 graduate of UMass Amherst with a double major in Exercise Science and Psychology. While at UMass Andrea played all four years on a tennis scholarship and served as captain during her junior and senior year.

Andrea continues to play in both DBH and CMITA leagues as well as competing in USTA tournaments at the 4.5 level.

In addition to tennis, Andrea has been a personal trainer for ten years.  She is a certified strength and conditioning specialist (CSCS), as well as a licensed physical therapy assistant.

With her clients she focuses on core stability, functional upper and lower body strength and flexibility, and incorporates footwork and agility exercises into the workout program.

Her tennis and physical therapy background gives her the unique knowledge of how to prevent and treat many orthopedic conditions that arise in tennis players and other athletes.

She has recently been certified in functional movement screening, which helps diagnose strength and flexibility imbalances, which can lead to injuries, and provides exercises to correct these imbalances.
